Sammy, 9 months and counting

Sammy turned 9 months on January 17, 2007.
We can't believe he's been a part of our family out of the womb as long as he was in it! Here he is at 9 months and weeks 40 and 41.

Sammy's 8th month

Then Weeks 35-39 (12/18/07-1/15/08)

Catching you up with Sammy

The next few posts will catch you up to speed with Sammy over the past few months. We've been taking the pictures, we just haven't moved them over to the blog.
First up Sammy's week 31-34 (11/20/07-12/11/07)

Cloth Diapering in Time Magazine!

Ok, so those who read this blog/see posts of Sammy regularly know that we use cloth diapers. Many people I talk to are skeptical about the comeback of cloth, but I wanted to share that CDs have made it in Time Magazine!!!

C'mon you know you want to be cool like me and Julia Roberts ;-) And for good measure, here's another pic of Samuel in a very cute diaper which was dyed and embellished by Keli of Sugarlump Boutique

Captiva Christmas 2007

So I didn't post pics the day after the new year...oops! To make up for it, I created a slide show of some of the highlights of our trip to Captiva Island for Christmas. Enjoy!

Happy New Year!

Jess here...
Just a quick post to say Happy New Year! It's just a few minutes into the new year and Troy and the kids are asleep. True to form, I am still awake for a few minutes...I may be in my 30s now, but I still have some night owl left in me. As I write, I am listening to hundreds of contraband fireworks going off on the island and the mainland. This is a new experience for me. Up north it is just too darn cold for people to set off a ton of fireworks in Dec/Jan, but here it seems to be quite the fashion. Maybe next year, I'll run outside to catch a few.

I don't want to reflect too much on the past year in this post, but I did want to take a moment to say that I am thankful that I am here at home sitting comfortably on our couch knowing that my family is resting peacefully in their bedrooms. Last year at this time as many of you know, I welcomed the new year in the hospital trying to get some preterm contractions to hold off. Thankfully they did and now we are so glad to have both Samuel and Annika in our lives.

Tomorrow, I plan to post a ton o' pics of the kids from the past month but until then Happy New Year Everyone!

Our Daughter...

Not content with her nice bed, Annika decided to haul a second bed on top of her other bed. At least I can say that Annika brings a refreshing sense of spontaneity to our lives. Sometimes I just wonder where her ideas come from.

Sorry for the posting hiatus. Advent has been very wonderful around here, and it has been busy. We began a contemporary evening service at the church on top of the other special services, musicals, parties, and other what not. It's been exhausting and rewarding.

We'll post more about our holidays - probably after Christmas. Oh yeah, Sammy is slowly and painfully getting his first two teeth. Poor guy. He's been miserable through it all.

May the peace of Christ be with you this Christmas!
