Just a quick post to say Happy New Year! It's just a few minutes into the new year and Troy and the kids are asleep. True to form, I am still awake for a few minutes...I may be in my 30s now, but I still have some night owl left in me. As I write, I am listening to hundreds of contraband fireworks going off on the island and the mainland. This is a new experience for me. Up north it is just too darn cold for people to set off a ton of fireworks in Dec/Jan, but here it seems to be quite the fashion. Maybe next year, I'll run outside to catch a few.
I don't want to reflect too much on the past year in this post, but I did want to take a moment to say that I am thankful that I am here at home sitting comfortably on our couch knowing that my family is resting peacefully in their bedrooms. Last year at this time as many of you know, I welcomed the new year in the hospital trying to get some preterm contractions to hold off. Thankfully they did and now we are so glad to have both Samuel and Annika in our lives.
Tomorrow, I plan to post a ton o' pics of the kids from the past month but until then Happy New Year Everyone!

Hey Jess, it's me Suz! (my sisters call me didi). Happy New Year. I didn't know that last year you were having pt contractions...that must have been scary.
Hope you're doing well. I'm impressed you stayed up past midnight. I think I made it to 10:30pm. With a teething baby in the house...well, morning comes waaay too quickly!
